Beginning November 1, 2026, all individual Medicaid providers who may be included in the Random Moment Time Study (RMTS) must have a National Provider Identifier (NPI). This requirement now includes school psychologists.

You might already have an NPI from previous requirements. You can confirm whether they have one by searching the NPI Registry. Those who do not currently have an NPI will need to apply using these instructions.

We urge you to get ahead of the November deadline and start this process now, if necessary.
