Schools as Refugee Service Providers

 Refugee children comprise one of the fastest-growing populations in the United States and their influx leads to particular considerations for educators (Dàvila, 2012). Challenges encountered by refugee-background and war-exposed youth both before migration and after resettlement place them in an exceptionally vulnerable position. Schools and communities are often challenged to meet the significant mental health needs of this unique population.
