Understanding Student Behavior: Integrating Donald Davidson's Theory of Action & FMA (2)

As educators are faced with the continuing changes in education and the increasing needs of students, both academically and behaviorally, the educational planning and preparation for teachers continues to grow. No matter what grade level or content area is being taught, the primary goal for teachers is to provide a meaningful and appropriate education for students. In order to support teachers, many districts rely on Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Intervention Assistance Teams (IAT), Response to Intervention (RtI), Teacher Based Teams (TBT), and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). Each of these initiatives is designed to provide teachers with the tools they need to support students in the classroom. For many teachers, though, these initiatives often get lost in the shuffle, leaving teachers fend for themselves, as their daily structures and routines often leave little time for collaboration with colleagues.
