What the Parent Across the Conference Table From You Wishes You Knew
Presenter: Ruchi Koval

In this presentation, Ruchi Koval, parent coach and mom of a special-needs child, will bring awareness and insight into what goes on in the mind of a parent when their child is diagnosed with an educational learning difference 
or disorder. With her trademark humor and focus on the practical, she will assist school psychologists in learning how to optimize meetings and conversations with parents to deliver the greatest value and enhance 
productive collaboration

Attendees will be able to:

  • Gain perspective of the experience of the parent across the table and best practices from the parent’s view;
  • Glean greater insight and empathy into the emotions of the parents;

Navigating Imposter Syndrome in School Psychology
Presenter: Kara Parker

This presentation explores imposter syndrome within the field of school psychology, including how it presents, why it occurs, and how it impacts professional practice. Participants will examine individual and systemic contributors to  imposter experiences and learn practical, research-informed strategies to strengthen confidence, support decision-making, and promote long-term professional well-being across career stages.

Attendees will be able to:

  • Identify key characteristics of imposter syndrome and how it commonly presents in school psychologists;
  • Describe professional and systemic factors within school psychology that contribute to imposter experiences;
  • Examine the impact of imposter syndrome on confidence, decision-making, and professional well-being; 
  • Apply practical strategies to manage imposter feelings and support resilience across career stages.
