Money for the school psychology intern program is included in the first draft of the state's next biennial budget.

Gov. Mike DeWine's 2022-23 state budget proposal surfaced in January with flat funding for the school psychology intern program. The line item, which is found in the Special Education Enhancements line, would maintain current funding, OSPA Executive Director Ann Brennan said.

The K-12 education foundation funding is level funded compared to the current budget and proposes no changes to the funding formula. Ms. Brennan said formula changes could occur during deliberations in the House and or Senate. The House Finance Primary and Secondary Education Subcommittee began it’s hearings on the bill in late February. It is chaired by Rep. Tracy Richardson.
