This session will build upon the learning from OSPA's April 2022 Conference with Dr. Elise Frattura and the Integrated Comprehensive System for Equity Framework and Process. Mr. Coleman will share his work in a Wisconsin school district and discuss next steps for school psychologist, understanding that equity is never about a single hero scenario.

Discover tools and strategies for designing and implementing robust, student centric multi-tiered systems of support. Marysville's journey to rich MTSS encompasses the systems change process, core programming, prevention, assessment, intervention, standards continua, and community partnerships.
Discuss the process and timeline a district uses to establish a unif ied vision and mutual path forward to equitable multi-tiered program delivery.

Ducks & Lions: Trauma Sensitive Resources Creating Trauma-Sensitive Schools
Dr. Melissa Sadin

This session will cover the prevalence of childhood trauma, the three realms of ACEs and the intersection of cultural competence. Childhood trauma affects neurobiology and influences  earning and social-emotional growth. Attendees will leave with plans to address the learning and behavioral challenges resulting from trauma using mindfulness practices, resiliency development and executive function support. The session will also cover strategies for writing trauma-informed IEPs and improving educator knowledge.
