Name Change of The Multicultural Affairs & Diversity Issues Committee

  • TOSP Fall 2020

The Multicultural Affairs and Diversity Issues Committee proposed to change the name of the committee to the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. The committee met during the Fall 2020 conference committee meeting and determined a committee name change would be appropriate in describing the role, function, and responsibilities of our committee.
In May 2020, NASP adopted a new model for comprehensive and integrated school psychological services, known as the NASP Practice Model, to advance the consistent implementation of our services, and to ensure maximum effectiveness, efficiency, and quality in schools. The name change was approved by the OSPA Executive Board, effective Dec. 1, 2020.
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee determined the function of the committee aligns best with the foundations of school psychological service delivery in Domain 8 titled Equitable Practices for Diverse Populations. Foundations of this domain include the following:
