| Recognizing
School Psychs: |
As we go about our professional careers and the daily requirements
that entails, it is easy for those of us in the field of School
Psychology to forget some of the outstanding day-to-day contributions
that School Psychologists make to both children and their
families, and our profession alike. As a way of recognizing
some of these outstanding day-to-day accomplishments, CASP
will periodically acknowledge the accomplishments of members
both on this website, and in CASPLINE. Suggestion for who
to recognize will be taken at future CASP meetings. |

Sherry Foulkes
Sherry Foulkes is full-time School Psychologist
currently in her sixth year in the Olmsted Falls City Schools.
Previous to that, she spent her internship year and four
years following that in the Maple Heights City Schools.
Sherry obtained her State Board of Psychology licensure
in November, 2001. She is a founding team member and Board
Member of the Western Cuyahoga County Schools Crisis Counseling
Team (WCCSCCT) which is in its 4th year of serving 11 Cuyahoga
County school districts. Sherry is currently serving as
President Elect for the Board of the WCCSCCT and will be
stepping into the role of President next school year.
Sherry spends her time in Olmsted Falls servicing the students
at both the Intermediate (4th/5th) and High School levels.
She has initiated the AIMSWEB system for monitoring the
reading level of all students at the intermediate level
this year and has successfully completed both the Fall and
Winter benchmarking sessions, as well as, working with all
the specialists in the building to weekly monitor any student
who is receiving intensive reading intervention. Sherry
also initiated the Signs of Suicide (SOS) program school
wide at the high school level 3 years ago and continues
to help facilitate its implementation in grades 10 and 12.
In addition to the more typical school psychologist duties,
Sherry enjoys facilitating groups. She most recently developed
a stress management group and a handwriting group in response
to the needs of the students in her building. She also got
the students actively involved in the Toys for Tots drive
back in December. The students/teachers in her building
worked hard and were able to donate over 200 new toys! Sherry
believes in giving back and has enjoyed providing training
opportunities to several practicum students and interns
over the past 10 years. She has also taught the Intellectual
Assessment course in the School Psychology program at Cleveland
State University for the past 2 years.
