OSPA is the State Professional Organization for School Psychologists in Ohio.

The Purpose of the Association Is:

To promote constructive action in meeting the educational and mental health needs of children;

To encourage the writing, publication and distribution of information contributing to the extension and enhancement of the body of knowledge within the field;

To provide opportunities for the professional growth of school psychology;

To promote the advancement of ethical, legal and technical standards of professional school psychology;

To promote the profession of school psychology.

 

OSPA Membership Benefits:
  • Subscription to The Ohio School Psychologist, quarterly newsletter of OSPA, which includes current legislative updates

 

  • Personal access to the OSPAOnline Members Only web pages with current legislative information, the OSPA job forum, OSPA directories, and much more

OSPA Membership Categories:

 

Full Member ($100.00)

Eligible to vote in OSPA elections

Eligible to hold office

Eligible to serve as committee chairperson

 

Student Member ($20.00)

Enrolled for a minimum of 6 semester hours in a university program and not employed full time.
Intern school psychologists are not eligible for this category. 

 

Intern Member ($20.00)
Employed as an intern school psychologist during the membership year.
Eligible to vote in the OSPA elections. 

 

Full First Year Post Intern Member ($75.00)
Eligible to vote in OSPA elections
Eligible to hold office
Eligible to serve as committee chairperson
For student/intern members during their first year of professional employment following the completion of the state school psychology internship. 

 

Retired Member ($50.00)
A professional who, due to age, disability, or length of service, is no longer in full-time service as a school psychologist in a school system.
Eligible for Full Member services.

 

Affiliate Member ($50.00)
Professional possessing a bachelor's degree, or higher, and having a professional interest in the field of psychology.
Not eligible for other membership categories.
Past OSPA members residing and working out-of-state may apply in this category. 

 

Honorary Life Member
An honor bestowed by the OSPA Executive Board to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the profession. 

 

Eligibility for membership in all categories requires recommendations of the Membership Committee and approval by the Executive Board.
